My doctor said to take this pills before pregnancy 3 months and at the time of the pregnancy also and after, all my life… but its easy to take, they are small and you don’t notice them. I have added Doctor's Best folic acid to the supplements that I take. I have added it as I am taking digestive enzymes and this is B vitamin can get somewhat depleted from taking those enzymes. It is easy to swallow and take. I take it between meals when I am not taking the enzyme. This is an important B vitamin. The size of the capsule is very small and so it is very easy to swallow. It is a quality product at a reasonable price.

B9 or methyl folate is essential and not to be confused with folic acid which is synthetic. Methyl folate is reported to be the most bioavailable form of B9 in the body. And it's in veggie capsules which break down more easily than tablets. I always choose capsules over tablets.
