Rice protein provides the body with nutrients called amino acids. The kinds of amino acids in rice protein might help to protect the body from too much sugar in the blood. They might also help to reduce blood pressure and blood fats. Protein powders made from brown rice have been around for some time, but they are generally considered inferior to whey protein for building muscle. Although rice protein contains all of the essential amino acids, it is too low in lysine to be a complete protein.
It’s much better than I expected.
It’s my first protein so I compared many candidates and finally picked it.
I can’t describe how it tastes like exactly but it doesn’t taste bad.
It takes like chocolate and protein fairly.
I loved this protein powder! It had a delicious chocolate flavor without being overly sweet, and had a really simple list of ingredients rather than having lots of additives. I was looking for a rice protein based flavored protein, and this was perfect. I used this added to smoothies, into pancakes, and made into a paste to dip fruit in.
It dissolves really well in water; no clumps left behind after a good shake in the bottle. 👍🏼 But in terms of taste/flavour...it’s not tasty at all. 👎🏼 It’s not sweet, so if you’re looking for a no/low sugar protein powder this would be a good option. It’s not delicious to drink unlike Vega chocolate protein. It also feels grainy when you drink it.
Do not trust other -ve reviews, the taste is not awful, if taken solely it tastes like a real cocoa but with slightly thinner flavour, it is kinda tasteless no sweet because it is like COCOA , most people will expect a chocolate but it doesnt deliver that kind of expectation, Chocolate flavour comprises of COCOA + Sweetener /Milk, but i find it labeled as chocolate is misleading because it is not a real chocolate, but more to cocoa.
Its not awful taste by taken solely from it, but if you expect to taste like a chocolate, then adding any milk or other beverage powder of your choice , it can make a perfect smoothies
Usually i buy Sun Warrior rice protein (natural flavor) here in Norway, and i was (still are) very happy with it. But because we have a import tax/fees for everything of value over about 33$, i had to find alternatives when i discovered iherb.
I found and ordered 2 boxes of NutriBiotic Rice Protein Chocolate. Its a lot cheaper and it does actually taste better too. At first i thought it mixed well, but tasted very little and was somewhat grainy. But after 6-7 shakes, it really started to grow on me. Now i prefer it to any other protein powders when i make my 3 daily shakes.
A few easy tips to make the shake taste even better:
*Mix it with unflavored (or Chocolate) rice milk
*Add 1/2 teaspoon of oil (it makes it healthier, 100% smooth and tasting fantastic for some reason -even when mixing with water)
*Blend in 10-50% hemp, pea, different brand of rice or other type of protein-powder to get different taste and texture.
I like the chocolate flavor. The best part of this is that it's not grainy like some other rice protein powders that I've tried. This is my fave by far! Delicious and easy. To be honest, I usually throw it in a green smoothie with berries and banana. :) I've had it by itself sometimes when I'm in a rush and it's good.
