This isn't the first time I've ordered a vein support complex that includes diosmin in the ingredient list. MyLabs' VS Formula contains not only diosmin but also five botanicals that act as vein tonics. Diosmin and hesperidin are flavonoids naturally found in citrus peels. Each capsule of the diosmin complex contains 300 mg of diosmin and 50 mg of hesperidin. Diosmin has been shown to help maintain vascular tone and normal circulation in the legs. Citrus bioflavonoids have antioxidant properties and have been shown to positively impact capillary integrity. Similarly, butcher's broom extract improves the elasticity and density of veins and has a tonic effect. Diosmin Complex contains standardized aescin extract, which is derived from horse chestnut seeds and standardized to 20%. There are reviews of pain relief with the use of standardized horse chestnut extract in supplements and when applied topically. The effect of horse chestnut supplementation was as effective as the use of compression garments.
